    About Us

    The National Association of Purchasing Management - National Capital Area, Inc. (NAPM-NCA) is an affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). We are an educational non-profit association operating since 1942.

    Our Vision
    We strive to have an organization in which the professional status of the members is recognized and promoted; which provides opportunities for them to expand their professional skills and knowledge; and which encourages as stimulates public interest in, and understanding of, the purchasing and materials field.

    Our Mission
    NAPM-NCA will promote the professional development, networking, and informational needs of our purchasing and materials management and decision making skills, their knowledge of the purchasing and material management professional, and their relationships and stature with internal customers, subordinates, the management of their organizations, and vendors.

    These programs will be developed and administered by officers, directors, and other volunteers who obtain satisfaction from their association training, leadership, and achievements; and who utilize both internal external resources, including the services of NAPM and other organizations whomever available and appropriate.

    NAPM-NCA will establish ongoing dialogues and communication channels, with the public in general, and also with certain appropriate constituencies of the public, such as private and public management groups and organizations, to which purchasing is important.

    • Our Board of Directors meets monthly to attend to association business. The Meeting Minutes are available by request to Melanie Turner, our Association Manager. Members are welcome to attend association board meetings. Meetings are usually held at 5 p.m. on the day of the dinner meeting. Please visit the calendar area of the website for dates.
